Shattered Trust

I trusted you.

I believed in you. But you turned your back on me.

You fought to prevent tears, and now that’s all you cause.

You were supposed to protect me. To be there for me.

But you turned against me.

Now you harm what you were born to defend. You have become the enemy.

This can no longer continue.

You have to be removed. Removed from me. From my life.

I pluck you from my being, and it’s like a new world.

I can see again. Through eyes unclouded.

I hope the next like you won’t betray me so.
